Nitin M. Amersey Originally from Bombay, India, Nitin Amersey came to America in the late 1960’s and obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business. He lived in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario before moving to Michigan. He currently lives in Freeland, MI and works out of both Bay City, MI and Toronto, Ontario. The marvels of digital technology have liberated photography from the dark room and have provided and afforded many individuals such as Nitin the capability, the time, the cost and the ability to enjoy a very rich and rewarding pastime, hobby and activity. Nitin has no formal training in photography or art or digital technology. Nitin does not have involved explanations of his work. Nitin works intuitively to produce photo art that has a strong composition element and which takes customary every day scenes, occurrences and people, and transforms the whole into photo art that is visually and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Nitin likes strong colors and traditional visual elements. Nitin has been able to unite his love photography with another passion of his, the game of tennis. Nitin has been a spectator of the game of tennis, photographing tennis players, and creating visual themes with a tennis focus for several years. Nitin has gained recognition as a “tennis artist” through exhibits at The Tennis Gallery located in London, United Kingdom during the 2008 Wimbledon Championships and at Tennis Canada located in Toronto, Ontario during the 2008 Rogers Cup. Nitin’s unorthodox approach to photographing tennis players and the use of bold color in his photo art has resulted in a fresh, contemporary visual approach to the traditional game of Tennis. Nitin is a digital photo artist -- a photographer who processes his work digitally and who employs digital technology to further the artistic expressiveness of the original photograph. Photo art is when you take an ordinary photo and transform it into something that looks like it has been created using traditional art techniques like paint, colored pencil, graphite, chalk, charcoal, crayon, marker, watercolor, and more. |
